CoS Teams Up With Faculty of Medicine for ComDev Activity
Leading the way for a “Better Lifestyle, Brighter Future”, the College of Science with the Faculty of Medicine hosted the second phase of their community development activity for the residents of Kasiglahan Village, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, last April 30, 2016.
The College of Science Mathematical Society, Red Cross Youth Council-Science Unit and Psychology Society along with the Gamma Beta Epsilon Fraternity from the Faculty of Medicine facilitated the event as project heads in a total of 7 activities prepared.
Assoc. Prof. Mary Ann Santos and Asst. Prof. Josefino Castillo from the Department of Biological Sciences also initiated the painting of classrooms in the Kasiglahan Day Care Center and donated school materials for the students.
Medical check-ups, livelihood programs by way of pastillas-making and Zumba dancing as a physical activity were arranged for the 50 adult attendees, many of which were senior citizens.
A total of 35 teenagers listened to a lecture Basic Computer Literacy, 50 children took part in Stress Management by painting and playing games and 50 young boys were signed up for circumcision.
The endeavor is being conducted phase-by-phase starting with an ocular visit of the Kasiglahan Village community and will have its third and final phase for this semester on May 7, 2016.
