College of Science Student Bags the 2017 BPI-DOST Best Project of the Year Award
Sheena S. Gumatay, a fourth year Biology student of the College of Science, bags the Best Project of the Year Award in the 2017 B
PI-DOST Science Awards. Ms. Gumatay was also awarded the Best in Basic Research Award for her research entitled Comparative analysis of in vivo- and in vitro-produced dsRNA in silencing efficacy in Penaeus vannamei challenged with WSSV, under the advisorship of Assoc. Prof. Mary Beth B. Maningas, Ph.D.
Both awards were also won by a Chemistry student of the College of Science last year. The awarding ceremony was held in April 4, 2017 at the Mind Museum, BGC in Taguig City.
The BPI-DOST Science Awards was created in 1989 “to encourage more promising young scientists to pursue scientific research”. This year’s theme is “Building Resilient Cities for Sustainable Development”.
