"Frolic Fest" Kicks Off
Headed by the College of Science Student Council (CSSC) with the help of Scarlet and the different Academic Societies, "Frolic Fest: Palarong Agham 2014" kicks off with a colorful bang after giving the Science students an all-day groundbreaking experience of fun games and activities held in UST Plaza Mayor last October 3, Friday.
Students came together as the College of Science Dance Troupe (CSDT) started the day with an interactive dance number. This was followed by the presentation of the varsity and palaro players.
As part of the event, different parlor games and booth games were set up from 9:00am – 12:00nn for students and faculty members to enjoy. Games include tug-of-war, agawan panyo, and many more.
Tension was palpable in the afternoon as it was time for the annual cheer dance competition. As per the decision of the judges, the Biology Dance Squad was announced as the winner of the cheer dance competition. In second place was the Psychology Dance Troupe then followed by the fuSCIon (a combination of students from Microbiology, Chemistry, Applied Physics, and Applied Math) as third place.
To end the program, another dance routine was performed by the CSDT together with the staffs and members of the different organizations.
The event not only gave the students an opportunity to have a good time but it also promoted maximum student involvement and holistic wellness and enrichment. The goal of this year's Palarong Agham is to uphold the true essence of camaraderie and unity as well as be able to apply the 3Cs of a Thomasian student: to be committed, competent, and compassionate individuals.
